What the Series Is About
From Theory to Impact is a two-part online webinar series taking place March 5 and March 12, 2026. Participants will dive into how to design thoughtful evaluation frameworks, measure meaningful outcomes, and use data visualization and storytelling to make program impact more actionable and compelling. Whether you’re relatively new to evaluation or want to sharpen your skills, this series offers practical approaches grounded in real nonprofit experience.

Why It Matters
Last year, the Murdock Charitable Trusts released the 2024 Northwest Nonprofit Capacity Survey, a survey of over 900 nonprofits across five states. The top three capacity needs identified by these nonprofits included 1) Resources: funding work that improves communities, 2) People: finding the right people and developing their talents, skills, and compensation in ways that promote growth, and 3) Evaluation: right-sizing impact measurement and helping staff and participants make sense of available data.

This session builds on a workshop presented at the 2025 Washington State Nonprofit Conference: Measuring and Maximizing Program Impact that addresses all three of these vital capacity needs. Evaluation and impact measurement are essential tools for nonprofits seeking to deepen learning, strengthen outcomes and increase awareness of your important work.

Who Should Attend
The series is ideal for nonprofit leaders, program managers, evaluators, and staff responsible for assessment or communication of program success. Attendees will leave with practical frameworks, measurement strategies, and visualization tools tailored to nonprofit and public-sector programs.

How to Join
The webinars run online via Zoom from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm PT on both dates. The sessions are recorded, and nonprofit association members can register at no charge using the member discount code.
